Connecting teachers. Empowering students. Strengthening pharmacy education.
1. Executive Summary
During the 2025–26 reporting period, the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI),
Kerala State Branch, advanced a practical and collaborative programme of professional development. The branch connected
pharmacy teachers, students
and institutions
through recurring continuing
professional education, curriculum-focused faculty development, student skill-building, mentorship, academic-resource creation, career guidance
and institutional partnerships.
The year’s activities were organised around five linked priorities: strengthening faculty
readiness for
curriculum reform; supporting contemporary disciplinary and professional learning; improving student
research,
career and digital skills; extending learning
beyond individual events through
mentoring and shared resources; and building
stronger connections among academia, healthcare, research and industry.
The defining direction of the year was continuity: moving from isolated events toward connected
learning pathways and reusable academic platforms.

6. Continuity Platforms: MentorSpace and SARATHI
MentorSpace
MentorSpace is a dedicated mentorship
community created to support students during webinars and
beyond. It provides a continuing space where students can ask questions, clarify
doubts, seek guidance
and remain connected with mentors
after the formal session
has
ended.
Why it matters. Many academic events conclude when the webinar ends. MentorSpace extends support into an
ongoing learning relationship
and gives participants a
clearer pathway for follow-up.
SARATHI
SARATHI – Smart Academic Repository and
Teaching Hub Initiative – is
designed as a
structured
academic-resource platform for pharmacy education.
It
supports curriculum-aligned teaching and
learning through reusable academic
materials and a shared teaching
hub.
• Supports standardised, curriculum-aligned academic resources.
• Encourages sharing of expertise across institutions.
•
Creates reusable learning assets instead of one-time teaching outputs.
• Strengthens access, continuity and collaborative academic development.
Together, MentorSpace and SARATHI move APTI Kerala from an event model toward a learning- ecosystem model.

8. Student Engagement and National Pharmacy Week
National Pharmacy Week provided an opportunity to engage students
in communication, public-health awareness and creative academic expression. An essay writing competition on the theme “Pharmacists as Advocates of Vaccination” encouraged students to connect pharmacy knowledge with public-health advocacy.
Educational
value. The competition
encouraged students to think beyond examinations and
articulate
how pharmacists can contribute to
vaccination
awareness, health communication and
community engagement. Such activities complement technical education by strengthening writing, communication, social responsibility and professional identity.

APTI KERALA STATE BRANCH
Advancing pharmacy education through collaboration, innovation and academic leadership.
THE LAUNCH OF APTI KERALAM WEBSITE AND SARATHI
The Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Kerala State Branch,
marked an important milestone in
its academic and digital initiatives with the successful launch of the
official APTI Keralam website and SARATHI – Smart Academic Repository and Teaching
Hub
Initiative. The launches were held as part of the Conference on Artificial Intelligence in
Pharmaceutical Education
organised at Crescent College
of Pharmacy, Kannur, on 9 July
2026.
Launch of APTI Keralam Website
The official website of APTI
Kerala State Branch, aptikeralam.org, was launched with the objective of creating a dedicated digital platform for the pharmacy teaching community of
Kerala.
The website is envisioned as a common platform to
showcase the activities, academic programmes,
professional
initiatives, achievements, announcements, and future programmes
of APTI Kerala
State
Branch. It is also intended to improve communication and connectivity among pharmacy teachers and
institutions across the state and provide greater visibility to the academic and
professional activities undertaken
by APTI Keralam.
The launch represents an important step towards strengthening the digital presence of APTI Kerala State
Branch and promoting greater academic networking,
collaboration, and professional engagement.
Launch of SARATHI
The programme
also witnessed the launch of
SARATHI – Smart Academic Repository and
Teaching Hub
Initiative, an academic initiative of APTI Kerala State Branch designed
to promote collaborative development
and sharing of quality educational
resources.
SARATHI has been conceptualised in the context of the revised B.Pharm curriculum and aims to bring
together experienced pharmacy teachers and subject experts for the systematic development of curriculum-aligned learning
resources.
The
initiative
follows the concept of “One
Topic – One
Resource Person,”
encouraging faculty members to contribute their expertise towards developing high-quality academic content. The resources are envisaged to include video lectures, presentation materials, study notes, and assessment resources such as MCQs, thereby creating
a structured repository
that can
support both
teachers and
students.
An important objective of SARATHI is to take quality
teaching beyond
the boundaries of individual institutions. By pooling the knowledge and experience of pharmacy teachers from different institutions, the
initiative
seeks to promote
a culture
of
sharing, collaboration, innovation, and collective academic development.
Significance of the Initiatives
The launch of the APTI Keralam website and SARATHI represents two complementary
dimensions of APTI Kerala State Branch’s vision. While the website provides a digital identity
and
common communication platform for the professional community, SARATHI provides a
collaborative
academic platform for teaching
and learning.
Together, these initiatives are expected to strengthen networking among pharmacy teachers, encourage sharing of academic expertise, facilitate access to quality educational resources, and support the
effective implementation of contemporary pharmacy education.
The launch during the Conference on Artificial
Intelligence in Pharmaceutical Education was particularly
significant, reflecting APTI Kerala State Branch’s commitment to embracing digital transformation,
technology-enabled learning,
and innovative approaches in pharmaceutical education.
The successful launch was made possible through the collective efforts of the APTI Kerala State Branch leadership, organising team,
coordinators, resource persons, faculty members,
and supporting institutions.
The occasion marked not merely the launch of two platforms, but the beginning of a broader collaborative academic
movement aimed at connecting teachers, sharing knowledge, supporting
students, and contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical education
in Kerala.
